Board President Change
On February 20, 2017 HOA President Bobbi Brown alerted the BMFHOA Board of her impending departure due to their upcoming family move to Corpus Christi. President Brown called for a meeting to replace her position. Notice that was sent on March 9, 2017 to hold said meeting on March 12, 2017. The name of Greg Rosario was offered as candidate for replacement. All confirmed ability to meet with the exception of VP Chuck Duello, who was leaving town on vacation. Later, Bobbi notified remainder of Board of her inability to meet due to a job interview. However, 3 of the 5 remaining Board members could still meet and Bobbi directed Secretary Yancy to conduct the meeting.
Neither the CCR’s or any other formation document have provisions for vacancy. Both Roberts Rules of Order and the Texas State Constitution have provisions for filling Board vacancies. As such, this meeting was conducted under Texas State Law regarding vacancies. The link to the law is for anyone with questions is http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/Docs/BO/htm/BO.22.htm#22.212.
The meeting was held and Gregory Rosario was elected to be the replacement for Bobbi Brown upon formal resignation from the position. Bobbi Brown gave her resignation from the BMFHOA Board on Friday March 17, 2017. As such, Greg Rosario is the new Board President for the remainder of Bobbi’s unexpired term.
Saying Goodbye to the Browns
The Browns are moving to Corpus Christi at the end of the month. Their home is for sale (we bet not for long) and the neighborhood will be losing two great people in Bobbi & Kevin. We wish them well.
Development Coming to the West of the HOA
All of the lands to the west of the HOA and Sherry Lane have been sold for development. The first phase will be behind non-members at 204 & 206 Sherry Lane. There is current construction going on now for what is believed to be a meeting house/common room.
Dues Coming in April
As a reminder, Cynthia will be sending out dues notifications in April.
Board Elections Coming This Summer
2017 marks the end of the current Board cycle. While most of the current Board are most likely willing to serve another term, if someone is ready to volunteer, let your voice be known. There are some families in the HOA that have never served and your service would be welcome. Current Treasurer Cynthia Jackson has indicated that she would like to be able to step down this summer. While this NOT an official notice, the election should be sometime towards the end of June.
